National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW) is upon us (September 13-19, 2015). This is a time when all of us at Dickinson Fleet take a moment to honor the hard working men and women who keep our country moving (literally). As fleet managers know, these individuals work some of the most critical jobs to our economy. This week is our opportunity to increase awareness of this among other Americans as well. As the saying goes, “if you got it, a truck brought it” and truck driving jobs will always be some of the most important to our economy. Take a look at this video shared by FASTPORT…
Watch: Imagine – Thank You, Drivers!
Truck Drivers & Our Economy
There are over 3.4 million men and women who are responsible for delivering goods safely and on time. These drivers log more than 169 billion miles each year. 80 percent of U.S. communities depend solely on the trucking industry for the delivery of goods. Needless to say, our economy’s success depends upon professional drivers.
Professional Drivers Keep Us Moving
Professional truck drivers keep America running. These drivers work for fleets of all sizes and each one plays an important role. While the daily duties of truck drivers go far beyond what we could ever list here, National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, for us, is a time for us to pause and recognize the sacrifices that are made each day. The time away from home, the tight deadlines and the generosity shown in times of tragedy. Driving in adverse weather conditions, traveling early in the morning and late at night. These drivers are always moving forward, so we can keep doing so as well.
Thank A Trucker
On behalf of all of us at Dickson Fleet, we just want to say “thank you” to truck drivers everywhere. From fleet size of 5 trucks all the way to 500 trucks, you all matter and you all make a difference. There’s a hashtag trending on social media of “#thankatrucker” and we hope anyone reading this will join us in doing so.
